A Ludo King Alternative Made for Uganda
Many Ugandans first played Ludo on a phone through popular international apps such as Ludo King. If you are looking for an alternative built around Uganda, with local players, UGX, mobile money and fair server dice, this guide explains what Ludo Cash Arena offers and how it differs.
A note on names
Ludo King is a trademark of its owner. Ludo Cash Arena is a separate game, made by Eira Digital Co. Limited, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Ludo King or its owner. Ludo itself is a traditional game that anyone can play and build on. We mention other apps only so you can compare; we respect the many players who enjoy them.
Built in Uganda, for Uganda
Ludo Cash Arena was made for Ugandan players first. You sign up with your MTN or Airtel number, amounts are in Uganda shillings, support works on Kampala time, and the people you meet in Quick Match are mostly fellow Ugandans, from Kampala and Entebbe to Mbarara, Gulu, Jinja and Mbale.
- Sign up with a Ugandan phone number, email and a password. One code confirms it.
- Play in any phone browser at ludocasharena.com, install the free Android app, or on iPhone add the site to your Home Screen from Safari.
- Light on data and storage: the Android app is a small download of about 3 MB.
- Support by in-app chat and email at [email protected].
Mobile money, in UGX
Cash play is optional and only for adults aged 18 and over. When it is open, you top up in UGX with MTN Mobile Money or Airtel Money by approving a PIN prompt on your phone, and withdraw winnings back to a verified number in your own name. The entry, the platform fee and the prize are shown before you join, and deposit and withdrawal fees are shown before you confirm. Nobody is guaranteed to win, so only play with money you can afford to lose.
If you do not want money involved at all, you never need it. Practice, Quick Match for tokens, free private rooms and the Daily Free Cup are always free. Tokens have no cash value and are completely separate from real money.
Fair server dice you can check
Every roll on Ludo Cash Arena is made on our server, never on your phone. With provably fair dice, each match's dice are locked in before the first roll and the secret is revealed after the match, so you can recompute every roll in your own browser on our verifier page. There is no admin tool that sets dice or outcomes, and every roll and move is logged for audits and disputes.
Clear rules on bots
- Bots are always labelled BOT.
- They play in free practice, and in Challenge the House, where you knowingly play the labelled House bot.
- In a free 3 or 4-seat room, the host may fill empty seats with labelled bots.
- Bots never play in games between players for money, and never in tournaments.
Ways to play
- Practice vs Bots: free games against easy, normal or hard bots.
- Quick Match: 1 vs 1 against a real player for free tokens, with 3 and 4-player tables too.
- Play with Friends: your own room with a code you share on WhatsApp, free or, for adults, with the same cash entry for everyone.
- Tournaments: the Daily Free Cup, a free knockout cup every evening with token prizes.
- Cash modes for adults 18+, when open: Play another player, where the winner takes the pot minus a disclosed platform fee, and Challenge the House, where a win pays a published multiple of your stake.
One rule set for everyone
Different apps use different Ludo rules. On Ludo Cash Arena every match uses the same published rules: six to leave the yard, extra rolls for sixes, captures and reaching home, three sixes ends the turn, eight safe squares, no blocks and an exact finish. Turn timers keep games moving, and if your network drops you get a reconnect window to jump back in.
Community and friends
Add friends, chat in matches, create groups for your class, office or estate, and share room invites straight into a group. You can block anyone who bothers you, and every chat is moderated against abuse and deals off the platform.
Get started in five minutes

- Claim your free tokens and look around the lobby.
- Play a practice game against an easy bot to see the board and the controls.

- Check the Tournaments tab and register for tonight's Daily Free Cup.
What stays the same
If you are used to another Ludo app, most things will feel familiar: the four colours, the yards, rolling a six to start, captures and the race to the centre. The main differences you may notice are our classic-1 rules, for example no blocks and an extra roll after a capture, the turn timer, and the fact that every game is played against real people or clearly labelled bots. A couple of practice games are usually enough to settle in.
Responsible by design
Deposit limits, loss limits, session reminders, time-outs and self-exclusion are built into the app and work instantly. Cash play is 18+ only, and we close any account held by someone under 18.
